The kids quickly almost adjusted to the time change. They woke up every morning between 5:30 and 6:30 and usually ate breakfast on the balcony. They also spent a lot of time on the balcony looking at birds (especially the "red-heads") and the geckos (called geicos by S).
We spent time at many different beautiful beaches. There were beaches for running, snorkeling, building sand castles and riding the waves. M didn't like the water or the sand, but was content to sit in a chair or on a towel and play with anyone that wasn't in the sand.
This is S throwing sand into the waves and then running away.
The kids were able to see a monk seal that was resting on the beach.
We went to church in Hanalei on Sunday. Gene R Cook was there and spoke to us. He and his wife thought that the girls were so cute that they gave the girls the leis that they were wearing.
We visited Waimea canyon. S couldn't resist the urge to throw rocks over the edge.
We visited the bird sanctuary and light house in Kilauea. It was windy and we saw a lot of boobies - that is red-footed boobies. We could also see whales surfacing off of the coast.

The kids are sooo cute! S is a mini me of his dad! Can we come with you next time?
Thanks for the pictures.
I love the pictures. It looks like everyone had a great time.
Fantastic, especially since we were just there. I could relate to it all. What a great time.
When we went to the Lighthouse to look for whales, they were pretty hard to spot. After many attempts, Mr. Tickle (number 5) just gave up and proclaimed, "There's no such thing as whales."
